Not Alone

When I was detected with breast cancer, I was depressed and discouraged. But my doctors helped me to revive and rejuvenate with their endless motivation. My friends encouraged me as well. I also got inspiration from the banyan tree and Mother Nature. They helped me realise that I belonged and I was not alone. A ray of hope and happiness filled my heart. And just like that, my cancer treatment got over and I was cancer free. But I still had a long way to go as a cautious cancer survivor. Like me, there are innumerable women who have gone through this ordeal and are continuing their fight with great caution and courage. This book is for all of them.

About the author: Born in the coal-rich town of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, Ms. Susmita Chatterjee graduated with specialisation in Bengali literature. Interested in writing since childhood, she has written profusely for school magazines and wall-journals. The author has interest in Rabindra sangeet and classical music ever since her childhood. Her marriage brought her to the city of Pune where she is residing for the past thirty years. She picks up the pen again to come out of the sense of fatigue and dejection she has gone through after being inflicted with breast cancer.
