I got back to my little one and licked her with reassurance. The rain had ebbed further. It was dawn the next day when I decided that I had to get to the other side of the water again. I wanted to get back to my little amuras even if there was no hope. I checked the water with my paws—the flow had ebbed considerably. I then motioned my little one to swim across with me. I did not want to take the chance of leaving her alone now. This time, the swim was easier. On getting to the other side, I immediately walked to the place where my little ones lay. Even as I reached the spot, I became acutely aware that the bodies of my cubs were no longer there and this made me very frenetic. Then I heard a familiar sound; it was the thing the manga rode on. I immediately concealed myself in cover and my little one followed suit. The thing on which the manga rode came into our sights, its eyes glowing bright.
